The incredibly talented & respected Jay Dee passed away on February 10th, 2006 due to kidney complications associated with lupus nephritis.

J Dilla will forever be known as one of hip-hop’s most admired and desired producers. From his production with A Tribe Called Quest and his invention of the group Slum Village, to his creation of multiple hits & albums with Common, Pharcyde, Busta Rhymes, De La Soul, and Q-Tip… he did nothing short of changing the way we now see (and hear) hip-hop as a whole.

Celebrate the life & works of the legendary producer/rapper J Dilla alongside:
