They also have John Igei and German Neives on their squad, so they’re pretty official. Good work guys.

So after an amazing set last Saturday, Dave 1 sat down with Igor and I and we got to scratch his brain a little. Anyhow here is what came of it. enjoy.

Big up to our girl Kelly Kell out in Montreal for producing a really solid line for the upcoming Spring 2008 season!!! Rated Rookies recently had their photoshoot for this line and 33 Mag was there to capture it all. Here are our good friends, Michelle Brunelle (Montreal Skateboarder), Jeremie Trepanier (Scifen/Boxfresh/Orisue), and Vincent Tsang (Off the Hook) who took part in the crazyness.

Sooo with the help of everyone voting for our boy Marcus Troy last time around, Marcus took round 2 easily. This time around, Montreal Goodfoot’s own Toddy Flores, representing the Haze Dunk, is up against EA Sports Art Director, Ryan Santos, representing the Futura 50 Dunk, in an epic grafitti battle! Toddy has been one of our close friends for a good minute, so we’d really appreciate it if you showed him some love!

Sooo I don’t know why I didn’t post this sooner,… but essentially John Cardiel is pretty much the single most inspirational individual in not only skateboarding, but in everyday life. Cardiel was in a league of his own in the skateboard world, riding for Vans shoes and Anti-Hero Skateboards until tragedy struck in 2003. Cardiel was struck by vehicle and was told that he was going to be completely paralyzed for the rest of his life.

What you are about to see is John today. Patrick O’Dell has documented a 16 part mini series on what actually happened on that horrific Australian day along with how John has coped with his injury since.

We’ve been to our fair share of shows here in Ottawa and seen the best along with the worst, but this show had to be right up at the top. Chromeo straight up killed it! Dave 1 and P-Thug had a ton of positive energy during their set and gave off some really good vibes. The fans were in a frenzy and I think they were called back on stage atleast 3 times… anyhow here is what we captured from the madness:

I had a bird eyes view from backstage and the as you can tell, the place was beyond packed.

These guys were honestly tooo legit. Amazing evening.

Dave 1 and P-Thugg stayed out for an extra hour after their set and made sure everyone got some loving from Chromeo. 

Later that evening, we even had a chance to sit down with Dave for a personal interview. You can expect to see the interview along with more Chromeo really soon. Many thanks to everyone who made the night such a blast.

We’re hosting our first ever Skateboard Design Competition! We would like YOU to create a deck for us. The winner will have his or her own deck created in super limited quantities alongside a new era hat in matching colorways. The deck will also travel around to finer boutiques all around Canada along with other skateboards created by top artitst throughout North America.
